An important part of professional development is being up to date on research, laws, strategies, etc. If asked this type of question during an interview, I'd state that staying informed is important to you. It's important not to over-commit yourself, as scheduling conflicts might occur, but it should be stated that you intend to continue to learn, share past trainings you've attended, and areas in which you're looking forward to growing on in the future. |

I would not tell the interviewer that I have extremely lofty plans for professional growth, such as becoming principal in a year. But I would not downplay my ambition. I want to be a teacher whose students perform well. I want to continue to grow and expand my teaching knowledge and share this knowledge with students for years to come. I want to become an established teacher at a school and continue to take on new responsibilities, such as starting an after school club. |

I agree with this solution. If you are already qualified for the position then all that needs to be discussed is how you are excited to grow with the school and its community and how you are always ready to learn new things. |

I plan to look up to other experienced teachers for advice and wisdom. I also plan to learn from my own mistakes and learn how to better prepare and give lessons so that my students may learn the most! |
