Parents doing the work for their child
In eLearning i have noticed parents sitting beside their child and telling them the answers and doing their work for them. How do I solve this issue?

I would suggest sending a note or email home to all parents in the class and ask them kindly to allow their student independence in the virtual classroom. You could explain the importance of allowing students to think for themselves, and how independent work can benefit their educational experience. Let parents know you are thankful for all their help and support for their child, but to place boundaries between the help they give and the work their students do.

I think this is a great idea. The parents need to know how detrimental it is that the student do the work for themselves.

I believe this is the best solution. Children need to excel on their own to build confidence and to understand the material. Parents should understand that it is ok to guide your child, but they are doing them a disservice by doing it form them.

This is exactly what I would do in this situation.

I would try to communicate with the parent about the situation. I would say I noticed +++++ and it is effecting the student in an negative way. You can ask parent a solution for the issue. Do you feel student needs more time? Do you think there is a better way to help student be successful?

I think you should explain how harmful this is for a student who is going to go onto the next grade without his/her parent in the classroom to tell them the answers when things get tough. Even if the child does virtual school for the rest of their academic life, how will are you to keep up this behavior? There might not be much you can do in this situation other than sending an email home.

If you can clearly tell that a student's parents are doing their schoolwork, give that work a 0. When the parents come back with "Why did my student fail this assignment?" come back with, "Because I know they didn't do it, someone else did." Don't directly accuse the parent but tell the parent that the work can be resubmitted but it must be done by the student alone.

I have seen a lot of this happening in my virtual internship. The students I teach are in first grade and the parents are always either sitting next to them or very close to them to the point where they can hear the teacher giving her lesson. It has especially been an issue when the students have to complete testing at their home, this testing is to assess the students progress and see where they are at in the class and to see if they are possibly falling behind in certain subject areas. The students have done exceptionally well although when we place them into small groups to teach a lesson (math especially) they don't even understand what is going on. So it is very concerning that these parents are basically taking these tests for their kids and trying to "help them" but what they don't understand is that they are actually hurting them and their education.

To solve this issue I would have a chat on the side with the parent, without the child there. I would let them know that this is not ok and the child needs to be figuring out things on their own. I would also tell them that it is okay to help their child sometimes, but in order for you to report that the child is doing good in class and to be able to give them a fair grade, they need to stop.

I would tell the parents that in our classroom we ask children to answer questions on their own or as a group, because this shows growth and it helps them express feelings and establish their own opinions. We ask the parents to help guide the students if needed, but if they can answer the questions on their own that will help them with future success!

Explain to them that helping them is one thing, but doing the work is another. Explain that a high grade is not the goal, but competency and retention of usable knowledge is imperative.

Make it a strict rule that parents may assist the children but cannot give them the answers.

I believe sending out a gentle reminder first, stating that eLearning work is to be done independently without help. Also reminding them that working on their own is an important skill for them to learn. If it persists then I would start reaching out individually and ask if the student is completing the work on their own because you are noticing a difference in their work.
