Parent Overstepping
How do I go about getting a parent to allow their child and I to resolve simple issues such as talking while I am teacher etc?

Since the parent wants to be actively involved, I would schedule a parent-teacher conference to create a behavioral plan to be implemented at home and school. This way, they have an opinion on how issues are handled in school while also creating a boundary for the amount of parent input in the classroom. I would also see about announcing opportunities for the parent to be involved in the school and creating activities to involve them in their child's education.

I think talking to the parent one on one and letting them know you think it could be beneficial for their child to learn conflict resolution with a person of authority (their teacher) on their own.

I agree with the solutions that suggest scheduling a parent-teacher conference. It may be helpful to start with the things the student is doing right in the classroom, as parents tend to already be defensive regarding critiques of their children. After this, coming up with a behavioral plan together may be helpful in giving the family some more control over their child’s education while simultaneously aiding in your classroom management.

I would schedule a parent-teacher conference to talk about the student's behavior in class and try to implement a plan to help the student in class and at home.

I think calling the parent or setting up a meeting with them would be beneficial as you can discuss your concerns with the parent and come up with a mutually agreed upon solution.
