One of the switched students' parents contacted Kasey explaining that she is not happy with the switch. The parent explains that she believes the switch will disrupt the momentum the student has worked hard to build. Kasey Forwards the email to her grade level AP who tells Kasey to respond that the switch was random and the new teacher would be working closely with all previous teachers to meet the needs of all students. The parent responds that she is not happy with the explanation and would like her student switched back. It may not make the other teacher happy, but she was not as familiar with that student anyhow, and it makes the student and the parents of the student happiest. People should not be moved at random, especially not after a school year has already started. That is unfair to everyone. If the parent still does not approve I would have a meeting with the guidance counselor and the parent to see if things could possibly be worked out some how.
