When she ask fellow teachers, they state that the GA Milestones will not be modified. Should I still modify classroom test or slowly take modifications away from my students to prepare them for the state assessment? Or should I completely take all accommodations that will not be offered on the assessment away immediately?                 Submit a Possible Solution Please read response(s) below (if any) before posting your solution.                 Solution 1 Posted October 20, 2014 12:15 am LynyWa Reps: 70 Continue to modify classroom work and instruction and as students begin reaching a level of mastery slowly take away accommodations for that concept until there are no accommodations and students and students are mastering concepts on their own. The GA Milestones is certainly aligned with the standards. I suggest the teacher go to OAS and explore the resources available. My test questions include DOK levels, short answers, and constructed responses. From my research, the test will challenge the students. On the bright side, if your students fall within the 3% that may qualify for alternative testing, be sure to contact your special education director. Do not modify, tier the questions or provide them with hints on how to solve or explain their answer using evidence from the text or concept. As far as the GA milestones we are all new to them and that is a question you need to address to the principal or higher up. I have a daughter with an IEP and I did not know that the GA milestone were not allowing accommodations or modifications, so now I have questions of my own.
