This eleventh grade group has poor grammar and conventional skills. Additionally, in a technology driven world and weak skills, the insufficient engagement in the writing process results in half of the class failing the summative essay exams which on is required for high school graduation.                 Submit a Possible Solution Please read response(s) below (if any) before posting your solution.                 Solution 1 Posted October 20, 2014 12:59 am eHuJeW Reps: 80 Mr. Kitchens may try to engage students more in their writing by asking students to write about topics which may be of interest to them, have students produce a class newsletter, or even have students work with a peer to help each other improve their skills. The teacher should hold conferences with each student or allow them to conference with a peer before, during, and after a writing assignment. Instead of having his students sit and write, maybe he could conduct a fun activity that helps with the organization of the essays. he could also practice grammar with his students and have them practice grammar sentences to determine the correct use of a word. This is a great movie that students will enjoy while being motivated to do well in school and put forth more effort in your classroom. They set aside a day and for half the class students write and then turn in these journals at random times to check for improvement.
