Therefore, my instruction is very differentiated to meet each child's needs. However, one of my student's parents believe that their child misbehaves because he is not being challenged. This child's assignments are based off of his assessment results, but the parents do not seem to understand. Go ahead and let the student participate with group that is begin enriched. Track data regarding their performance on the assignments as well as behavior. After two weeks, share the data with the parents. If there has been a change, great then the problem might be solved. If there hasn't been a change, then ask the parents what they would suggest the next steps to be after you have made some suggestions. Anchors are a great way to differentiate, and keeps students from getting into other activities during their downtime in class. This provides an outlet for the child to use higher-order thinking skills and the parents see that the student is being challenging on top of all the differentiation you are already providing.
