Enjoy the humor briefly with the class. The humor is seldom the problem,as they are sometimes funny-knowing when to use them must be emphasized. 2. In private conference, use the time and place strategy. 3. When appropriate, give the student a chance to "perform" 4. Help the student find a way out of the behavior. 5. With the class input, develop a mature class code of behavior. 6. Follow up this talk with the class clown to reinforce positive behavior. 7. Learn to enjoy the class clown once you have had success with the strategies that work. 8. use positive reinforcement as a reward for compliant behavior. Avoid the following: 1.
