Do you think the mom had a reason to worry about her daughter?
Yes, she has every right to be worried. Joining any branch of the military is scary because the jobs are dangerous and unpredictable. As mentioned in the story they bring up how there can be a possible war and how she'd be forced out to help fight. When her daughter got deployed on a job and could'nt keep contact with her mother it causes another sense of worry because that means something could've happened to her daughter.
