Region Assesments
My region requires me to give my students assessments to monitor growth. I feel that these assessments are not accurate. What should I do to present accurate growth?

Create a graph for these grades or create portfolio to keep your students work from beginning of the year to the end

This would depend on the districts requirements. Do they provide the assessment? What are the guidelines? Pre and post test are good for student growth if they are done properly. Portfolios are good to provide student growth.

You could use pre-test and post-test data to show growth. I give a quiz a week, even if it is only 5 questions, I have data on student's growth.

If your region's assessments are a standardized test, I would recommend that you show your students example questions and prepare them for the format of the assessments so that they will not be surprised. If the assessments are general, teacher chosen, assessments to show growth, creating a data chart that corresponds to in class, portfolio/notebook work.
