Our grade level requires that students read every night for 15 mins. The student is to record the book title in the agenda and have a parent sign it. I send home a book each night for the students and have prizes for the students who reach the goal of reading 15 days out of the month. The prize is a pizza hut coupon, free lunch with me, and 45 playing time on the Playstation 3 during the monthly celebration. I have reminded parents about this assignment, write it as nightly homework, and discuss it at conferences. Please help. I only have 3 students who make the goal every month. Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) You could try choice reading, which will allow the student to select books that interest them, oppose to you selecting a book for them.
