Case: Dealing with parents that says it all your fault...
It is was quite difficult to deal with parents who blame your for their child's mishaps academically. I once dealt with a parent who believed that I was the problem as to why their child was not being successful. The parent blamed me for their child's laziness when it came to completing work as well as my blaming me for their child's inability to comprehend while reading. I continuously assured the teacher that I was trying my best to help the student progress in the classroom. However, she always reverted back to blaming me. What would you do?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I think it is always important to communicate that part of your job is to help the child develop work ethic and responsibility. |

Comments: I agree with this notion. I tell my students constantly that I not only teach the curriculum, but I teach life skills as well. |

Comments: I think there needs to be more of a solution than this. A parent who is blaming the teacher probably needs more than this as an explanation. |

Comments: I don't think this has worked for her in the past because she said she always reverts back to the blaming game |

Comments: This provides too little information. Although communication is important, some parents like playing this blame game instead of putting the blame on their own child. I Think the best option is to offer the parents to observe the classroom so see whats actually happening. |

Comments: Yes this needs to be communicated, but the teacher needs to do more. She should set up a meeting and do more to address the issue. |
