You would like to go out of town for a long weekend with some friends and would need to take Friday off to do so. Is it ethical to call in "sick" for this day even though you are not actually sick? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I don't think this is unethical. It is left up to the discretion of the educator to determine this. I do believe that teaching is a quite rewarding job. However, it can be also quite stressful and draining. If a student found out about this then what would stop them from doing the same thing? It's her job to be honest and have a set of ethical standards. It the teacher has a personal day left they should definitely just use on of those personal days. Lying about time off can create quite a mess if you're not careful which could end up damaging your professional reputation.
