Case: New Students Being Assessed Under You
At my school we receive new students each Monday. Majority of these students have been out of school for a long period of time. An influx of new students are enrolled a week before standardized testing and they are required to test as our students. What is a great solution to this situation?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I have been faced with a similar situation my first few years of teaching. The solution my school system came up with was to test those students who enrolled prior to testing and to use their scores for placement purposes and data collection, however once a student enrolled after November their scores were no longer a reflection of the teacher and did not "count" when looking at class data as a whole.

Comments: This seems like the fairest possible way to do it. I'd feel bad if administration didn't do the same for any other teacher! Could put them in a very unfair situation.

Comments: I like this solution. The late enrollment students' scores shouldn't reflect them or the teacher, but can still be used for other purposes.
