Case: Sick Day or Personal Day?
In your district you get three personal days per year, and you have already earned all three. You would like to go out of town for a long weekend with some friends and would need to take Friday off to do so. Is it ethical to call in "sick" for this day even though you are not actually sick?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Personally, I feel that these days are your days to do whatever you want with... whether you are sick or not. I feel that we need those days where you take off and go with your friends in order to not become sick..or physically drained. |

| Comments: It is simply not ethical to use sick days for vacation. Teachers should take full advantage of their weekends and holidays to alleviate any stress. |

| Comments: This is not the best solution. It encourages teachers to be dishonest, which we shouldn't be in regards to sick days or other aspects of the job. |

| Comments: That's the dilemma though, the person doesn't want to take away from their personal days available, so they are considering taking a sick day so they will still have their 3. |

| Comments: Not so much. I believe it is unethical to "pretend" you are sick. It's simple, use a personal day for fun activities and use a sick day when you are actually ill. |
