  Case: Administrator Playing Favorites
An assistant principal has a group of students that she plays favorites with. These students are constantly in her office when they should be in class and when any of them are written up they receive barely a slap on the wrist if anything. This same principal sends out emails to the school telling teachers to not send students to her office without her permission, but when students wander in after getting permission to go to the bathroom she lets them stay. How do you handle this?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would hold the students accountable for their behavior first. If they were my students, I would give them a consequence for visiting the principal instead of being in my class. I would not allow the students out of the class, except for using the restroom, and if I discovered they were visiting the principal- I would not excuse their missed work. If that doesn't work, I would keep track of the amount of time the students spent with the principal, the amount of work they missed and their grades. Hopefully, the principal will realize that the innocent visits are hindering their education.

Comments: This would be a more effective way to show both the assistant principal and the student that the visits are more harm than they are good.
