Case: No make up exam policy
A student misses a mid-term exam worth 40% of her grade. She tells you she was in the hospital. You have a "NO MAKE UP EXAM" policy and the student appears to be OK. What course of action do you take next?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would definitely require a written note or call from the doctor, or whomever took care of her at the hospital.

Comments: In this situation, I would not use this solution. I would not use this solution because I believe a note from parent should be sufficient.

Comments: Both of these forms requested in the solution could be created or forged by a parent, friend or the student. Not as legit as a doctors note.
