  Case: Tough Interview Question- Retakes
I went on a job interview quite some time ago; however, there is one question that continues to stump me and I'm not quite sure I could have answered it. The principal asked me what my views were on allowing students to retake tests. Would I take the average? What happens if students fail the first one on purpose, only to get a high A on every retake? I wasn't sure how to answer this because the county where I came from only allowed one retake per 9 weeks. How would you answer a question like this? In my experience, retake rules were always decided at the county level.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
A limited amount of retakes per semester is a great way for students to not take advantage of the system. Averaging the two grades may encourage students to do well on both the first test and the retake.
