  Case: Fire Drills
My class does not take fire drills seriously. No matter how often I say to them, although fire drills are for practice, we still must follow protocol as if it was a real one they still act up. Embarrassed as my class is the only class running and talking during the drill, I've tried everything that I've seen suitable to get them to do right. What should I do?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
If you have tried everything possible, I would suggest having administration come in and talk to the class about their expectations. Sometimes having that more authoritative figure can help. I would also suggest practicing a fire drill during a more desired activity.

The suggested solution is relevant to the case Yes
The suggested solution is reasonable (easy) for the teacher to implement Yes
The suggested solution is likely to solve the problem/issue Yes
The suggested solution is original Yes
Comments: Sounds like this is the best solution since you have tried everything suitable to get them to behave. This is the solution I would use. It could be helpful to have a firefighter volunteer to come in and present the importance of cooperation during a fire drill.

Comments: I think this gives too much authority to figures other than the teacher, taking authority away from the teacher.

Comments: I think this is pushing the problem off on someone else. The students wouldn't take you seriously if you asked someone else for help.

Comments: The administration has other cases to handle, and you want the administration to know that you can handle your classroom. Try talking to the students first before taking that step.

Comments: if the students aren't taking the fire drill seriously I don't think they will take talking form an administrator very well.

Comments: I don't feel that this is a issue that needs to be brought to administration. You don't want the students to think that their teacher can't handle such an issue like this.

Comments: i feel like having administration come in isn't the best idea because students may not find it to be as important as it is.
