  Case: TOO Many IEP GOALS
What do you do when you inherit an IEP with too many goals to access? I feel that I am not able to teach because I am busy collecting data on their goals?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Anytime I feel like something in an IEP needs to be changed, I would schedule and IEP amendment meeting. This way you can change whatever needs changing and best meet the needs of all the students in your class.

Comments: Whatever is on the IEP is there for a reason. BY having a meeting and taking things away may hurt the student rather than help them.

Comments: This is both good and bad. You must be sure goals are meet before requesting to amend the IEP.

Comments: I think this is what everyone thinks to do but maybe it doesn't goes as easy as it seems. I don't think IEP meetings are that simple and straight forward.

Comments: I feel that this would be a good solution to follow regardless the type of teacher one is. It is important to have the meeting and keeping the goals that are needed for the student and ridding it the others that are no longer applicable to the student.

Comments: While this sounds like a great solution, this may hurt the student in the long run by taking the IEP goals away. Maybe you can speak with administration and they can further assist you.
