Case: Appropriate Attire
This year, my county has really enforced everyone being in appropriate attire. The problem is, everyone has different views on what is appropriate? This struggle really impacts the women. At the elementary level, there is a lot of binding and moving around. Some of my colleagues had been wearing colored skinny jeans, which didn't look like skinny's. When you look Pintrests for ideas, the common skinny ankle is what you see. Is this not appropriate? Many teachers felt this was too harsh. Our AP also suggested no one wear flip flops. What's the appropriate attire for elementary school teachers?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
As long as the jeans are not too tight or thin in revealing what's under the clothing the colored skinny jeans should be fine. I can understand not wearing the flip flops as they are not professional, but sandals that look a little more professional and classy should be allowed...they are allowed in all 3 schools I have worked in with one being an elementary school. |

Comments: I like the solution because as long as the outfit is not revealing, or too inappropriate, then it should be allowed. However I feel that the flip flops are just inconvenient, and could be a safety hazard |

Comments: If you have to ask, don't wear it. Ankle pants are fine, just be mindful of the way things fit. I typically opt for close-toed shoes, just in case someone steps on my toes. |

Comments: I agree. As long as the articles of clothing are not to snug or showy they should be allowed after being assessed. |

Comments: I agree, I personally think jeans are fine and flip flops should be avoided. closed toed shoes in general are more appropriate. |
