Case: Appropriate Attire
This year, my county has really enforced everyone being in appropriate attire. The problem is, everyone has different views on what is appropriate? This struggle really impacts the women. At the elementary level, there is a lot of binding and moving around. Some of my colleagues had been wearing colored skinny jeans, which didn't look like skinny's. When you look Pintrests for ideas, the common skinny ankle is what you see. Is this not appropriate? Many teachers felt this was too harsh. Our AP also suggested no one wear flip flops. What's the appropriate attire for elementary school teachers?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Everyone does have different perspectives on what they think is appropriate. I feel if the clothing does not reveal too much skin, it is appropriate. In my school, women skirts are to be 2in longer than their finger tips when hands are placed to the side, but who is actually measuring? I believe as long as the professionals' attire distinguishes them from the students, they are fine. |

Comments: Teachers have to distinguish themselves as professionals. If this is accomplished, their attire should be appropriate. |

Comments: Teachers attire should be held to a higher standard than more professional than the student. |

Comments: I would never do this! This still leaves the interpretation of the attire up in the air. |
