You may need to rethink the no make up policy. Unfortunate things happen in life and she may not have been able to attend the mid-term. I do not agree with a NO make up policy. Things do happen in life and as long as there is some type of evidence then I think you need to give the student a chance to make things up. They should not have to stress about coming to school if they are very ill or had a family member pass away.
