  Case: Changing Answers
I suspect a student is changing her answers on graded assessments after she receives them back with a grade. The first time I believed that I made an error when grading her test, but the second time the answer appeared to be changed. What is the best way to handle the situation? I thought about making a copy of her future tests before returning them so that I would have proof of her original answers.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Making a copy of the student's test would be a good solution to this problem. Also, taking the test electronically would also be a solution. I use a CPS system in classroom that prints out scores and missed answers after the assignment is complete. Students would not be allowed to change answers with a printed copy of their results. If you do not have a CPS system, there are many websites or apps available to teachers for online/electronic assessments.

Comments: Making a copy of all tests would be the best solution. Also, I use ALL in Learning to grade assessments which is an easy way to grade assignments electronically. It programs the students answers automatically and grades it instantly.

Comments: I think that just having a copy is a great idea so that you have proof to show the student. The student might become frusturated, but they need to understand that they cannot just change answers because that is cheating. Taking a test on the computer is also a great idea because then nothing can be changed, but not every teacher has the option to do that.

Comments: While I do agree that it is a good idea to copy the students tests before giving them back so that you have proof of the original answers, it isn't always possible for teachers to have access to computers or other forms of electronics. Some schools are underfunded or there is a high demand by all teachers for use of electronic devices. It is a good idea to use computers or other technologies, but it isn't always possible and therefore not super useful.

Comments: This solution is a great solution. Making copies of the original test would allow you to have evidence that the student changed their grade after the test was already graded. I also like the idea of using electronic testing because the students can not make changes to printed answers.
