Case: Missing Work
I teach 3rd math and science to 2 classes. I am with the first group for 160 minutes and then swap for the other group. Many of my students are not completing the assignments due to us swapping and then having to go to something else the next day. How can I ensure that all my students are completing their assignments?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I find that students may need to complete their work in class, after class or on Saturday with me. Many times I also infuse a Friday make-up day where you are able to work in groups to complete task or have a student teach the group or I work with individual students to ensure they complete missing work. Students can only make a 70 on late work. |

| Comments: Although this is all in good intentions, I do not think that staying after school or coming in on a Saturday is a good idea for make up work. This could lead for the students to feel way too overwhelmed. |

| Comments: I understand where you are coming from, but allowing students to make-up work on Friday's teaches them they don't always have to complete their work on time because they will have another chance to complete it in school and still receive a passing grade. |

| Comments: I also agree with this suggestion! I think having time during the school day where you can dedicate class time to homework and classwork is a great way to make sure that students are getting their work done, teachers can check in on their students, and the classes can bond together during the day. |
