Case: Evaluators
In your schools, who are the evaluators when it comes to TKES? Do they follow the same protocol? Are some unnecessarily harsh. I have heard of many teachers teaching and doing the same things with widely varying results. How do you handle evaluations where you may feel there is misunderstandings?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
My evaluators are only the principals. I believed they have to be trained evaluators. Because evaluations have a rubric, but are still regarded by humans I know they will vary. I expect them to since people are different and will perceive things differently. I definitely learn each evaluator and become acclimated to what they would be looking for and I give them exactly what they are looking for. I handle misunderstandings during my conferences and provide my lesson plan so they may see other portions of my lesson in which they may have missed. |
