  Case: Social Media and Teachers
I have a teacher that continues to post ecards, memes about situations that occur with her and another teacher. For example, the teacher was having difficulty within a Pre-K classroom, and when given a solution of providing reinforcers such as small goldfish, m&m, small video clips, stickers, the teacher passively refused. Instead, she posted ecards and pictures of how students should not be rewarded unless they were doing good. How would you handle situations such as this with social media?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I think it should be against school policy for educators to participate in work related rants on social media. This should be brought to somebody's attention. This teacher is making her school look dysfunctional when she is posting things on social media about it. She needs to be reminded of the reasons we are teachers and that is to do what is necessary to do our jobs productively.

Comments: If someone's unprofessional attitude on social media bothers you, it seems easiest to simply block or unfollow them. It is freedom of speech after all.

Comments: I'm sure if it was said in a harmless matter, bringing it to an administrators attention is a bit overly dramatic. Ignoring the statements is the best option unless directed towards you.

Comments: How she conducts herself on her personal time is no ones business. As long as it isn't harmful to others or students then we mind our own business.
