I wait to have everyone's attention and then I begin the activity. Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I was in a school that used the system of repeating to gain student attention. First the teacher would say 'class' and the class would reply with 'yes' and then the teacher would say 'class class' then the students would say 'yes yes'.
