Case: Social Media
What are the limits when it comes to social media and education? I remember hearing a story of a principal who was fired because she posted a picture of her and her friends drinking wine. Is this over stepping the boundaries, or is the new norm for education?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
This is an unfortunate fact about education. As teachers we are seen as role models for our students, but are not treated as professionals. We are forced to limit our outings to those that are deemed as appropriate and professional during our free time and are not allowed to post on social media as others do, in case the parents of our students see what occurs during our own lives. I believe that this practice is definitely overstepping boundaries and should be addressed and stopped. |
