Case: Tone of Voice
I have a co-worker that frequently uses a harsh tone when speaking with the students. Some of the students do not respond to this type of redirection. See is doing it frequently and parents and other teachers are starting to complain and she is getting a reputation for being "The Mean Teacher". Is this something I should address?

If the teacher involved in this issue is someone that trusts you and you have a relationship with, then I see no harm in approaching them about the situation. If not, then I would let someone else approach them about the issue. Being able to effectively collaborate with other teachers is essential, so you do not want to do or say anything that will negatively effect their relationship with you. Also, since other teachers and parents have noticed this teachers attitude then I'm sure it will reach administration soon. |

| Comments: Especially if you have a good relationship with the teacher this is very useful. I think talking with the teacher first is often helpful. Many addminstrators would prefer this approach first. I also think if thiss doesn't work, you should try talking with someone else, like a school professional. |
