She has also taken pens and pads of paper from my desk. When the issues first began, she did not own up to her actions, however now she will say she did it. There does not seem to be any remorse and I have to ask her to apologize to others. What can I do to teach her that stealing is wrong and to prevent it from happening again? It would be best to start by talking to the student to see if there is any underlying cause to the behavior.If it becomes necessary you should contact the students parents to see if they know anything. Just keep in mind to avoid playing the blame game.
