Case: Does my child have ADHD?
When a parent continually asks for the teacher's opinion on whether their child has ADHD or not, what is the appropriate response since we are not doctors? We can describe the behaviors we see in the classroom, but where do we draw the line?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Advise the parent that they should take the student to get a professional evaluation. |

Comments: I don't think that I would advise that they should get their child tested, but I would explain to them that if they are really this concerned they should probably consult with the child's physician. |

Comments: I don't think the teacher should just come out and say that it's really the parents decision it's not the teachers place to say such a thing. Instead the teacher can tell the parents if they have any concerns about the child's behavior and performance in the classroom. |
