  Case: GO noodle
I allow my students to do a go noodle video at least once a day for brain breaks or recess but there is one student who can't seem to handle it, he is always running all around or hurting other students. He is ruining it for the class and it makes me not want to give the students this activity. How to I fix this without punishing the entire class.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would not want to punish the whole class for one student's behavior, so I would try giving him a specific job during the time you play the Go Noodle video. For example, send the student on an errand to the office just before playing the video. This will give him a break from the class and allow the other students to enjoy the video/activity.

Comments: I think it is important not to punish the whole class because of one students' actions as well. It would be a good idea to give him tasks to stay on focus.

Comments: While I understand the reason for suggesting this solution, I agree with another person that sending the "problem" student on an errand doesn't fix the problem but puts a bandaid on the issue. The student needs to learn how to behave during this activity

Comments: I would not use this solution. The student will loose out from the activity. A simple conversation to reinforce the rules would most likely suffice.

Comments: I think this is a great idea. It seems to me that he has more energy than wanted, sending him to run an errand can maybe help compose himself before starting the activity.

Comments: Just because you are sending him out does not mean he won't come back and start being disruptive. Also this could cause him to feel un important because you didn't wait for him ,causing him not to trust or listen to you anymore.

Comments: Although I see your point, I dont think this would be beneficial to the teacher or student. This is because if he cant follow directions in the class how can he follow directions to run an errand?

Comments: While this may be helpful I still feel that it ingles the student. I do not feel that it is fair for the student to have to miss the entire activity. I could see where doing this so often may help or even talking to be why the student does such actions to either the student or the parent about the issue.

Comments: I don't see myself following this solution as the student would not be participating and learning in the activity. At first I can see it working but the student might later feel left out so I do not think this is the right solution to the issue

Comments: I don't believe sending the boy out to do errands is the best approach for this! The boy may feel like he's getting punish for nothing, you have to sit him down and explain that his behavior isn't appropriate for this activity and allow him to try GO noodle again.

Comments: I do not think removing the student from the class will be effective. Eventually this student will catch on and will feel excluded. This would not be positive reinforcement.

Comments: As though this would be an easy solution, I have to disagree with it. The student needs to learn how to behave in these kind of conditions or the behaviors will continue and their is only so much you can do to distract him.
