  Case: Shy
I have a female ESE student who seems to get extremely shy every time I call on her for and answer. I will give her a lot of time to respond. I will restate the question in a few different ways. I make every attempt to involve her in the lesson, but she only responds once and a while. How do I ease her anxiety?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Having problems up on the board and having the children all answer them going in line of where the students are sitting, is a great way for her to think about her answer and watch other students talk about theirs before it gets to be her turn. This can ease her anxiety a little more.

The suggested solution is respectful of the individual (student) Yes
The suggested solution is relevant to the case Yes
The suggested solution is reasonable (easy) for the teacher to implement Yes
The suggested solution is likely to solve the problem/issue Yes
The suggested solution is original Yes
Comments: I agree with this solution. It is very helpful for an ESE student to be prepared when they know when they are going to get called on that way they have time to prepare their answer and formulate what they are going to say.

Comments: I do agree that this solution can work in some situations. However, I for one had great anxiety and shyness in school, and knowing I was about to get called on made the situation worst. I would be thinking more about being called on than the actual question.

Comments: I think this would cause more anxiety and she would probably just copy other students answers so she doesn't feel less intelligent
