  Case: No Group
I have a student in my classroom that cannot work with anyone. No matter what group or pair she is in, she is not focused, talks too much, doesn't get anything done, and brings her group down with her. I have tried many types of groups and different pairs. What should I do?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Some students may be too immature to work with others. Explain to her that she has to work alone until she is able to behave in a group.

Comments: I would do this but I would clearly explain to her why she is not being allowed to work in a group so she understands what her goal is.

Comments: I wouldn't guarantee that the student is immature, and it is not fair to separate them without exhausting other resources.

Comments: I would not use this in my classroom. I think there are other ways to handle this situation without completely excluding her from group work. Group work can be very beneficial if you can get her to participate properly.

Comments: I do not think that it is fair to single out a child from working in a group. They may have a hard time focusing, but you should give every student the same opportunity to work in a group.
