Case: Cliques
I have two students who are acting out towards the other students. They are both girls who pick on the girls with less friends. How do I stop this without crossing my boundaries as their teacher and not their parents?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would definitely talk to the two female students and reinforce the rules or consequences. It is important that they know you will not tolerate bullying in the classroom. Make sure to check on the students being bullied, ask if the girls need to speak with a counselor. |

Comments: I liked your suggesting of checking with the bullied students. This is so important! Also, it is so important to be consistent with the reinforcement of rules and consequences. Students need to know you mean business and that their behavior will not be tolerated. Great solution. |

Comments: I agree, reinforcement is a good way to show that their behavior is not tolerated. |
