  Case: Name Calling
I have a student that insists on making up nicknames for every student in the class. The names are not necessarily bad but a lot of the students don't like them and it makes them upset, what is the best way to handle this?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Have an open discussion in the class about respecting each other and show them that calling names is not respectful, and there will be consequences if calling names continues.

The suggested solution is respectful of the individual (student) Yes
The suggested solution is relevant to the case Yes
The suggested solution is reasonable (easy) for the teacher to implement Yes
The suggested solution is likely to solve the problem/issue Yes
The suggested solution is original Yes
Comments: This is a good way to address all students being affected at once, but I would still attempt to address the student doing it directly.

Comments: I'm not sure that this would keep the student from giving others nicknames. This student might not consider it name calling.
