Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Make eye contact, stand close to them and sometimes mention their names.

The suggested solution is respectful of the individual (student) No
The suggested solution is relevant to the case No
The suggested solution is reasonable (easy) for the teacher to implement No
The suggested solution is likely to solve the problem/issue No
The suggested solution is original No
Comments: I agree that making eye contact and waiting for their attention could be useful but getting close to them is not a great idea. That is intimidating and a little too much for this situation. Once they stop talking after making eye contact let them know they are disrupting and need to get back on task.

Comments: Not a bad idea but you don't want to signal them out by saying their name. Sometimes that can lead to more acting out from the student
