  Case: Time-Out
I have a student who very often has to go into time out during extra curricular time, because not listening or fighting with other students. Every time the student has to go into time out he cries and cries and cries. I feel bad but he has to learn. I am not sure how to handle this situation.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Instead of time out take away priviliges

Comments: This is not something I would do. This might work for a short period of time, but the reaction that is happening from the time out could eventually happen with revoking privileges.

Comments: I think this solution needs to be more in depth to be effective, taking away privileges may not simply be enough.

Comments: Before taking away time or privileges I'd allow the student to work for something. This would not work for me.

Comments: I think that the child should have both time out and privileges taken away if they continue to disrespect the teach. That is how they learn not only by being put aside while the class learns but also not being able t do something they love to do like playing games or drawing.
