Case: Trouble students
Today I was subbing, there was a student who thought it was "cool" to be disrespectful and get in trouble. This student's goal was to get in trouble. What do you do in a situation like this?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
The students who do this are just trying to get attention. Ignore the student to a certain extent, if the behavior continues let them know the only thing this behavior is effecting is themselves and how it is disrespectful to you and the class. |

Comments: I agree that it is all for the attention and ignoring them to an extent is the most useful solution. If it continues, let them know what they are doing is not funny and warn them of the consequences. If this does not work, proceed with implementing the consequences and following through with what you said. |

Comments: I agree. I would first try just ignoring the behavior. "Class clowns" tend to act up for attention. Don't entertain them. |

Comments: I would not use this solution. I don't think ignoring the student will help and I think that disciplining the student in front of the class is useless if that is the student's intent. |

Comments: I would not do this. By ignoring the student it could result in an even bigger disruption. |

Comments: I disagree. If the student was looking for trouble then I would ignore them all together. I was attention whether its good/ bad - that being said, I would just ignore. |

Comments: A lot of students seek attention by acting up. This is a great idea to stop that behavior. |
