Establish a signal for their attention from the first day of school. | Comments: It is very important that an attention signal is established on the first day of school. One strategy may work for awhile but then you may need to adjust your system of getting the students attention to a way that works effectively. Call and response methods are what I like to use because it gets the students to all participate and they can be fun. Clapping games and counting tends to work well too. I like the idea of a "quiet spot". |
