Case: Cliques
I have two students who are acting out towards the other students. They are both girls who pick on the girls with less friends. How do I stop this without crossing my boundaries as their teacher and not their parents?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Have a strong classroom management plan along with rules and regulations against bullying. Some students may not realize what they are doing is bullying. One girl telling another girl she doesn't like her shoes may not seem like a big deal to the first, but a huge deal to the girl who is being picked on.
Do a lesson on bullying as well. It is something, even if covered in the beginning of the year, all the students need to be reminded about.
A more simple solution would be to separate them in class, but this won't stop what happens in the hallways. |

Comments: Good idea. Inform the students on what bullying actually is. |

Comments: If I were in this situation, I would do this because it can help the student understand what bullying is and how it could affect the other person. |
