  Case: Read Along
Everyday, after lunch, we do a two class read aloud. This allows one teacher some RTI time. Some students feel this is time to goof off and disrupt the class. How do I control these students without taking away from this fun activity?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Don't let them sit next to their best friends because that is where the disruption will start. Do something like Popcorn reading where whatever one student is done reading their part they pick the next students to read, that way all of them are on their toes and following along because they'll never know when it's there turn - its random

Comments: I think this is a very good solution to this problem. Popcorn reading will also let the teacher know who is paying attention and who has to be separated.

Comments: This is what I would do in this situation because students need to be attentive when the read aloud is going on. I would also ask pop questions to the students who tend to goof off.

Comments: Love popcorn reading. Keep kids on their toes and keeps them following along because most kids don't want to be embarrassed by not knowing where to read.
