  Case: Substitute Teaching
How do you get the students to respect you as a sub, when you only see them one day?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
First impressions go along way with students. You should be firm , fair and consistent with all students all the time. By establishing control from the beginning the students will respect you and your authority in the classroom.

Comments: If I were in this situation, I would do this because it is easy for students to feel too comfortable when the regular teacher is absent.

Comments: Good solution! Something I always heard from my mother, a teacher of 31 years, is that you can always loosen the reins after starting out firm, but you can't handle the reins after they've already been let go of.
