The names are not necessarily bad but a lot of the students don't like them and it makes them upset, what is the best way to handle this? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) If this were my student, I would sit down and have the students talk it out one by one. Have the student explain individually why they do not like this name, and that it upsets them. Once they have all gone around the room, explain to the student that it is not nice and that this behavior really needs to stop. Have him apologize and have a fresh welcoming start. Tell the student that if it does not stop they will have to go to the office, get a referral, detention, etc for the behavior and that they will have to call his parents.
