Case: No Friends
During the formal parent teacher interview the parent expresses their concern over the fact that the child has no friends during playtime. They are visually upset and want to know what you are going to do about it. How do you handle this situation?

I would handle this situation by incorporating daily cooperative learning activities in the classroom in order for the student to interact socially with their peers and explain to the parent that I will do my best to assist the student in making new friends. |

| Comments: I agree with this solution. Cooperative learning techniques are something that every classroom needs whether you have a shy student or not. It really is a great way to have your students get to know one another and interact while learning at the same time. I would also offer the parent comfort that you will do your best to assist their child in making friends. |

| Comments: I would do exactly this, this doesn't force students to be friends by using cooperative learning activities it will teach them social skills that they will be able to use. |
