  Case: Which parent wins?
I have a student who's parents fight over who gets to pick up the child. The child never knows who to go with because they make him feel bad. Who do I let the child go with? And how can I make this stop?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Tell the student to try and make a plan for their parents. Have alternating schedul so everyone is happy

The suggested solution is respectful of the individual (student) No
The suggested solution is relevant to the case Yes
The suggested solution is reasonable (easy) for the teacher to implement No
The suggested solution is likely to solve the problem/issue No
The suggested solution is original Yes
Comments: I would not do this because it would be inappropriate for the student to put himself/herself in the middle of the argument. It should not be his/her responsibility to solve this issue, and it would put them in a very uncomfortable position.

Comments: I do not think this will solve the problem, the parents would not like to be told what they are going to do because you and the student made a plan for them.

Comments: I would never do this in this situation. The child already feels like they are being pulled in different directions. Encouraging the student to make a plan for their parents is inappropriate. They are the child and should be able to act like one.
