Case: Student refuses to do math
I have a student who refuses to do math on the computer (fastmath). If I force him to, he breaks down and throws a huge fit. Any advice to get him to do the work that is mandated by the county?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would have to explain the importance to him. Then if he doesn't act right send a note home to his parents so they can try and handle it. |

Comments: The parents will not be able to sit in the classroom and get their child to do the work. The teacher needs to motivate the child and be able to get him to do the work. |

Comments: I think there are more options available before involving parents. I would not do this. |

Comments: This probably will not solve the issue because the student still feels upset doing his work. Finding the root problem will most likely give positive results. Leaving it up to the parents to handle it could make the situation worse, and, worst case scenario, the parents might get upset at the teacher for not knowing how to handle their students. |
