  Case: Bullies
What is the best way to deal with bullies in the classroom?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
There is a zero-tolerance policy for bullying on school campus. Talk to the class about bullying and make sure they feel safe enough to report it. Go over the proper procedures for reporting an incident. Education is the most powerful weapon. Sometimes bullies don't know that's what they're doing and victims don't know how to handle being bullied.

Comments: Yes! Every school has specific procedures and in addition to the teacher discussing the problem with the class and how bullying is not okay, the teacher also needs to handle the problem privately with specific individuals and follow the school's procedures.

Comments: This is a very important point - bullies (especially at a young age) don't understand the consequences of their actions on others. I think going over this issue at the beginning of the year and stressing the importance of empathy and respect are just as important as the zero-tolerance policy itself.

Comments: I loved your last sentence of your solution, so true and we need to help the students learn what's right and wrong.
