He is integrated into a reading intervention class with other students with LD or EBD labels. I have had students ask why he needs so much help and why he is special, and talk poorly about him and the validity of his label. They do this in front of other students and ask the teacher these questions. How should the teacher or myself respond? How do we stop the conversation without embarrassing the student? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I would encourage the students to write down their questions and put them in a "question box" each night or during lunch, the teacher can go through and answer the questions and return them to the students. Children cannot help but be curious, but they need to know that it is not appropriate to talk about other students.
